CiteGrab

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms cover your use of the CiteGrab Chrome extension and this website.

What CiteGrab does

CiteGrab reads a webpage's metadata and formats a citation in APA or MLA style. Citations are generated automatically and may not always be complete or correct — always check a citation against your institution's style guide before relying on it in published work.

Your account and data

CiteGrab does not require an account. Citations you save are stored locally in your browser. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the extension, saved citations are removed and cannot be recovered by us.

Free to use

CiteGrab is free to use, with the limits described on the extension itself. If you'd like additional formats or features, you're welcome to get in touch directly.

Acceptable use

Don't use CiteGrab to misrepresent the source of a citation, or in any way that violates the terms of the sites you're citing from.

Changes to the service

We may update or improve CiteGrab over time.

Limitation of liability

CiteGrab is provided as-is. We are not liable for citation errors, formatting mistakes, or any consequence of relying on a generated citation without independently verifying it.
